The circuit can deliver a current of about 150 mA, which can be increased to 1A with adequate cooling for the 7805 regulator chip. It includes overload and thermal protection to ensure safe operation.
As shown on the PCB, I added two header pins to make the circuit easily pluggable onto a solder-less breadboard.
